Stay Riga is an independent travel guide focused on helping English-speaking visitors plan a trip to Riga, Latvia. It's not a tourism board project, not a hotel chain's marketing site, and not a generic "top 10" listicle farm. The goal is straightforward: provide useful, specific, and honest travel information for a city that deserves better coverage than it currently gets.

How We Research Recommendations

Every hotel area, restaurant, tour, and practical tip on this site is researched using a combination of official sources (Riga Tourism, transport operators, venue websites), recent traveller reviews across multiple platforms, and local media. We cross-reference information from at least two independent sources before publishing.

Prices, opening hours, and transport details are checked against official sources at the time of writing. We note "last updated" dates where possible so you can judge how current the information is. Travel details change — if you spot something outdated, we want to know.

Our Use of AI Tools

We believe in being upfront about this. Stay Riga uses AI-assisted tools as part of the editorial workflow:

  • Content drafting — AI helps structure articles and draft initial copy, which is then edited and fact-checked
  • Image generation — Some images on this site are AI-generated where original photography is not available
  • Research compilation — AI assists in gathering and cross-referencing travel data from multiple sources

What AI does not do: AI does not decide what we recommend. Specific details — venue names, prices, transport schedules, neighbourhood descriptions — are verified against primary sources before publication. We don't publish raw AI output as finished content.

AI-generated images are used as visual supplements and are not representations of specific real businesses or exact locations. We're working to supplement these with original photography over time.

How We Make Money

Stay Riga earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with booking platforms like Booking.com, GetYourGuide, and others. When you click an affiliate link and make a booking, we receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. These partnerships fund the site but do not influence what we recommend. What We're Working On

This is an evolving project. We're regularly adding new articles, updating prices and practical details, and expanding coverage. Planned additions include seasonal guides, packing lists, and more day-trip itineraries beyond Jūrmala and Sigulda.
